Core Dance Team (CDT)

 

Dance is a form of artistic expression, designed for performing.  The ultimate goal of dance training is the performance!  Until the dance student performs for a live audience, their training is incomplete.  Many dance students will perform only once a year-on a stage in the recital.  CDT is a group of more serious dancers who desire more than that once-a-year opportunity.  CDT dancers LOVE to be on a stage!  Our Dance Team will provide you with more opportunities to be in the spotlight and share your talent with others while building life long friendships.  

 

We believe in creating a HEALTHY competition experience for students (and parents) to grow.  Its about training and performing.  Whether they win, or which award they win, is secondary.

Core Dance Team will be split into two groups based on age and level. Members will attend at least three regional dance competitions alongside our Elements Performance Company, competing in one or two routines. There will also be opportunities for extra performances at the teams discretion. Routine genres will be chosen according to majority skill.

 

 Core Dance Team will also perform throughout the community at events and at our Company Showcase in February. Core Dance Team has a lesser time and monetary commitment than the Core Elements Performance Company.

Requirements for CDT members are as follows-

​

No less than the following weekly classes:

• Ballet (1-2 weekly hours, depending on age and level)

• Jazz - Teen Dance Team and Jazz classes are combined (JLT/FlexCon not required, but highly recommended)

Parent Informational meeting was held at the studio on Saturday, May 6, 2023. This meeting is open to all who are interested in learning the ins and outs for next season, or in the future. Preliminary Core Elements & Dance Team Auditions for the 2024-2025 season will be held on 5/19/24. Core Dance Team accepts new members throughout the Fall.

Rising PreK-Kindergarden 2PM ~ Rising 1st-5th Grade 2:30PM ~ Rising Middle & High School Age 3:30PM

​

All levels, ages 3-18 are welcome to audition. Beginner-PreProfessional groups are available.
