Classes We Offer
Ballet/Tap (Ages 3–5):
This developmental class introduces young dancers to both ballet and tap, helping them build foundational skills and prepare for elementary-level classes. Students will learn more advanced movements and rhythms, with an increased focus on ballet barre work. Classes are designed to be fun and engaging, using lively music to inspire a love of dance.
Schedule: Thursdays, 4:00–5:00 PM and/or Saturdays, 10:30–11:30 AM.​

Jazz/Tap II (Age 5):
This developmental class combines Jazz and Tap, helping dancers build skills and prepare for elementary-level classes. Students will be introduced to proper warm-ups, stretches, and dance vocabulary, along with across-the-floor progressions and short combinations. This upbeat, fun class offers a well-rounded introduction to dance for young students.
Schedule: Saturdays, 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM.

Ballet (Grades 1–12 | Beginner to Advanced):
These curriculum-based classes are designed to develop strong foundational Ballet technique, focusing on mastery of the five positions, plié variations, tendus, and other level-appropriate skills. Instruction is delivered by a professional Ballet Master, ensuring dancers receive high-quality, traditional training. Classes include both barre and center floor work.
Dancers progress through a structured Level I curriculum and may advance to Level II or III upon the instructor’s recommendation, with an emphasis on refining classical Ballet technique, precision, and artistry.

Tap (Grades 1–12 | Beginner to Advanced):
Tap is a percussive dance style where the dancer’s feet become instruments, creating rhythms through metal plates on the toes and heels of specially designed shoes. Students will explore musicality, timing, syncopation, and rhythm while learning foundational tap technique and across-the-floor progressions.
Our tap classes are curriculum-based to ensure structured, progressive learning. Foundational levels follow the Al Gilbert Tap Technique, a time-tested syllabus known for building strong, technically sound tap dancers from the ground up.

​Acrobatics (Grades 1–12 | Beginner to Advanced):
Acrobatics is one of Core’s most popular and distinguished programs. This unique dance style blends elements of floor gymnastics with classical dance technique, focusing on strength, flexibility, control, and fluidity of movement. Dancers develop acrobatic skills in a safe, structured environment while enhancing their overall performance quality.

Hip-Hop (Kindergarten–12th Grade | Beginner to Advanced):
Hip-Hop is a high-energy, fast-paced dance style rooted in street and urban movement, set to current and classic Hip-Hop music. Classes incorporate a variety of styles including breaking, locking, and popping, while also focusing on rhythm, coordination, and personal expression.
Each one-hour class includes a warm-up, conditioning, and technique training, along with choreography inspired by today’s latest trends in music and movement. Dancers are encouraged to explore their individuality while building strong foundational skills.
Jazz (1st-12th grade | Beginner-Advanced Available): ​
Jazz is an energetic and expressive dance style that builds on Ballet and modern technique. This class is ideal for dancers looking to strengthen their overall technique while exploring a wide range of movement styles. Core’s Jazz program is curriculum-based and progressive, ensuring dancers advance through structured levels with clear technical goals. Students will focus on foundational technique through jumps, turns, and across-the-floor progressions, while learning innovative choreography. Classes feature a variety of Jazz styles, blending traditional and contemporary influences in a fun and upbeat environment.

Lyrical (1st-12th grade | Beginner-Advanced Available):
Lyrical dance blends the technical foundations of Ballet and Jazz with expressive, fluid movement. This style emphasizes musicality, emotion, and storytelling through dance. Core’s Lyrical program is curriculum-based and progressive, allowing dancers to build skills and artistry through structured levels of training. Classes focus on flexibility, strength, dynamic expression, and proper alignment, while encouraging emotional connection and individuality through improvisation and choreography.

Musical Theater (3rd-12th grade):
Musical Theater is a Jazz-based class inspired by the vibrant style of Broadway. Dancers will learn choreography that reflects the movement seen in musical theater productions, combining technical jazz foundations with strong performance skills. Core’s Musical Theater program is curriculum-based and progressive, helping dancers build stage presence, character development, and expressive movement. Classes focus on connecting with the audience, using facial expressions, storytelling, and stylized choreography to bring each performance to life.

Contemporary (3rd-12th grade | Beginner-Advanced Levels Available):
Contemporary dance is a versatile and expressive style that blends elements of Ballet, Modern, and Jazz. This genre encourages dancers to explore creativity, improvisation, and innovative movement. Core’s Contemporary program is curriculum-based and progressive, guiding dancers through structured technical development while nurturing artistry and personal expression. Classes focus on movement exploration, fluid transitions, dynamic shapes, and emotional storytelling through choreography and improvisation.

FlexCon/JLT (2nd-12th grade | Beginner-Advanced Available):
Also known as Flexibility & Conditioning/Jumps, Leaps & Turns, this popular weekly class is designed to accelerate a dancer’s progress. The first half of class focuses on building strength and flexibility to enhance overall technique, while the second half emphasizes mastering jumps, turns, leaps, and “tricks.”

All classes will perform in the year-end recital in June and the Holiday Show in December, both held at the Blessed Trinity High School theater.
