Attendance Expectations

Consistent attendance is essential for progress, confidence, and safety. Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes on time and prepared. Proper warm-up is critical to preventing injury—students arriving more than 10 minutes late may be asked to sit out for their own safety.

If your dancer will be absent, please contact the studio to let us know in advance.

To ensure the safety and supervision of all students, we kindly ask that dancers arrive no more than 10 minutes beforetheir scheduled class time and are picked up within 10 minutes after class ends. If you have a scheduling conflict and need to drop off or pick up outside of this window, please contact us in advance so we can make arrangements.

Perfect Attendance Awards

Students with perfect attendance (no absences) in at least one class for the entire season, beginning October 1st, will be honored with:

  • A personalized trophy

  • A special on-stage recognition at recital

  • Their name printed in the recital souvenir program

To be eligible, students must be enrolled and actively attending class by October 1st.

Please note: This is not a punishment for those who miss class, but a celebration of a rare and meaningful accomplishment. To maintain the integrity of the award, no exceptions will be made—thank you for respecting this policy.

Studio Etiquette

At CORE, we strive to create a positive, respectful, and focused environment for all dancers and families. To help us maintain this standard, we ask that everyone follow these studio guidelines:

🤝 Respect Comes First

  • All students, parents, and guests are expected to treat instructors, staff, and each other with kindness and respect at all times.

  • Profanity, gossip, or negative attitudes have no place in our community.

🧹 Clean & Considerate

  • Please help us keep the studio clean by picking up after yourself. This includes dancers, parents, and siblings.

  • Respect all studio property and treat the space like it’s your own.

✨ Team Responsibility:
Our Company members participate in a nightly cleaning rotation as part of their team commitment. Each team is assigned one evening per week to spend 5–10 minutes tidying the studio—wiping down surfaces, organizing common areas, and making sure things are left better than they were found.

This teaches our dancers responsibility, respect for shared spaces, and the value of contributing to a place that truly becomes their second home.

🚪 Classroom Courtesy

  • Do not open the dance room doors while classes are in session—this disrupts both students and instructors.

  • Dancers should never enter a studio without an instructor present.

👨‍👩‍👧 Lobby Expectations

  • The lobby is a shared quiet space—not a play area.

  • Siblings must remain seated and supervised at all times.

  • There is no running, shouting, or eating in the lobby or studios.

  • A designated Student Lounge is located at the back of the studio for snacks, homework, and quiet conversation.

🥤 Food & Drink

  • Only water bottles and healthy snacks are permitted. No gum or candy, please.

  • Water fountains are available for all students.

📵 Personal Belongings

  • Phones, smart watches, and jewelry are not allowed in the dance studios and must be silenced and stored in lockers or cubbies.

  • CORE is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

Level & Placement

Student placement is thoughtfully determined by the Core Elements Creative Team—a collaboration of our directors, choreographers, instructors, and staff. Each dancer is placed in the class or group that best suits their age, ability, experience, and learning style. Past performance, class attendance, and overall growth are all taken into consideration.

Placement is not open for negotiation, and reflects the professional expertise and insight gained from years of teaching and guiding dancers.

We understand that placement can sometimes be emotional, but please know:

  • Our goal is to foster confidence and nurture each dancer’s love for learning.

  • Being placed in a level where a dancer feels successful often encourages stronger self-esteem and better long-term development.

  • Placing a student above their current skill level can lead to frustration, overwhelm, and, in some cases, a loss of passion for dance.

  • While some dancers thrive when challenged beyond their comfort zone, these situations are rare and are handled individually.

We see your dancer in the classroom every week, and our placement decisions are made with care, integrity, and a genuine desire to see them succeed—not just as dancers, but as confident individuals.

Class Observation

For the best learning environment, parents and visitors are not allowed in classrooms during instruction. To stay connected, you can watch classes live on our lobby monitors via closed-circuit TV.

Thank you for helping us keep our studio focused and distraction-free!

Pick-Up & Drop-Off

To ensure your child’s safety and our staff’s full attention, please drop off no more than 10 minutes before class and pick up within 10 minutes after class ends. Late pick-ups (over 10 minutes) will incur a fee. For drop-off, please use the designated zone behind the building. At pick-up time, we ask that you park and come inside to collect your child. For their safety, all students must wait inside the studio until a parent or guardian arrives. We cannot supervise children waiting outside.

Studio Closings

We follow Forsyth & Fulton County school closings. When the studio closes due to weather or emergencies, there are no refunds or make-up classes.

Please check our website and social media for closing updates.

[Click here for the full Studio Calendar.]

We reserve the right to remove a student from our program for reasons including, but not limited to: excessive lateness or absences, disruptive behavior, or non-payment of tuition and fees.
