What is The Core Ballet Company?
The Core Ballet Company was developed for the most dedicated Ballet dancers, this non-competitive performance company performs through out the community and performs a winter show each season. Ballet Company members are required to take two Ballet classes each week (3 hrs) plus weekend rehearsals (Elementary Level I consists of only 1 weekly class of one hour).
How Do I Join?
Auditions are held each year in August and students grouped based on age and skill level. Dancers must be enrolled as a student at Core Dance & Acrobatics Studios and attend required Ballet classes each week.
Who is Sean Steigerwald?
Presently the head of Core Dance & Acrobatics Studios Ballet Program, Sean began his training at Academy of Ballet Arts and Tolbert-Yilmaz School of Dance. He received additional training at International Ballet Summer Intensive, Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts, Houston Ballet School, and Orlando Ballet School. Sean attended The University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where he earned his B.F.A.
For the past ten years, he has performed in The Georgia Ballet's productions such as Fire Bird, Serenade, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, and Four Seasons. He is the Georgia Ballet's longest standing company member. Sean has also guest performed with other companies in the Metropolitan Atlanta Area such as: Carolina Ballet Theater, Chattanooga Civic Ballet, and Wazahzeh.
